3 Key Things You Need To Remember For Your Wedding Reception

When you’re planning a wedding, your focus is split into two parts. You’ve got the ceremony to plan, and then you’ve got the reception to follow. Planning a wedding reception is usually very stressful, but also extremely fun. It’s the part of your wedding day where you can afford to relax a bit and let your hair down. The hardest part is over, you’re officially married, and now it’s time to party! If you’re planning your wedding reception, then there’s going to be people you need to hire and things you have to consider. Here’s my look at 3 key things you need to remember for your wedding reception:

Photographers

Taking pictures is the best way to create memories of your wedding day that last forever. Sure, everyone has smartphones and cameras these days, so there will no doubt be pictures taken at all times. But, it helps to hire wedding photographers so you can get pictures professionally done. They’ll have already taken some at the wedding ceremony, but now they accompany you to the reception. A good wedding photographer will go about their business quietly, taking great snaps here and there. When your wedding day is over, they’ll send you all the processed images either online or in a physical folder, depending on which you prefer!

Catering Staff

A massive part of any wedding reception is the food. A good menu can take a wedding reception from a zero to a ten real quick. Of course, you can’t make all the food yourself, so you need to enlist the help of a catering service. Hire catering staff to make all the food for you, as well as waiting tables and providing general customer service. You want everything to run smoothly so make sure you hire enough staff to cover the amount of guests you have. For example, if you have 100 people at your wedding, then hiring two waiters and one chef is not going to cut it. You don’t want your guests waiting around for their food getting restless. Remember, the wedding feast is hugely important because it fuels your guests for the partying that’s still to come!

Entertainment

No wedding reception is complete without great entertainment! Have you ever been to a wedding that just serves food & drinks, then everyone says their goodbyes and leaves? No! There’s a whole night ahead of getting groovy and dancing til your feet fall off. Metaphorically speaking of course – don’t literally dance until your feet fall off! But you get the point, there needs to be music and entertainment throughout the night. There are two options you can go for when choosing the music; either hire a DJ or a live band. Live music can be a lot better than some of the DJ’s tunes, but you’re restricted to songs the band knows. With a DJ, you lose some of the atmosphere a live band creates, but they have a backlog of tunes so your guests can request whatever songs they like.

Organizing your wedding reception involves a lot of hard work. Just don’t forget these three key areas when you’re planning it, and your wedding day will be one to remember!
