Eat Well

First of all, we are what we eat, so there it is no excuse for not eating well. I know that it can be so tempting to go for the quick fix of a sugary or salty snacks, and those things are fine in moderation, but it’s paramount that your fuel your body with wholesome and nutritious foods.

I trust you that I know its hard, but eating clean is a great way of doing this. It limits the consumption of processed foods and chemicals.  Meaning your body can digest and process what it is consuming much better. This can lead to better health, easy weight management and more energy.

Move Your Body, & Have Fun

A sedentary lifestyle can severely impact on your health. So making sure you move your body is vital. You don’t have to be an Olympic runner, though. A walk or dance or even a bit of gardening regularly is enough to keep your joints working well and burn off calories. The sagest advice of all here is to do something that you enjoy, then your focus isn’t on how hard the exercise is. You have a  positive experience in the now while storing up benefits for your body for later.

Take a Holistic Approach

Another piece of sage advice about your health is to take a more holistic approach. Western medicine is very symptom focuses. So if you have a headache, you take a pill for a headache. If you are depressed, you take a pill for your depression, but the body is, in fact, an open system, which works not as individual pieces but as a whole, so one thing can affect another. For example, you may not be getting enough sunlight, and that is why you feel depressed, or your headache might be because you are allergic to chocolate, and you have just eaten a big bar. Instead of just ministering to the symptoms we should be looking at what’s causing them and addressing that.

You can do this by taking supplements, being more active and seeing a homeopathy doctor. They use a holistic approach and can treat anything from depression to skin rashes.

Be Grateful

It’s really hard to be unhappy if you are thankful for the things that you do have in your life. It’s easy to be lead astray by the media and advertising and think we should be unhappy if we haven’t got the latest car, computer or handbag, but the practice of going through the good things we do have can have a profound effect on our lives. You can take a minute or two each day to record the things that you’re grateful for in your life; you can even keep a journal if you like.
