Friends drinking cocktails with bride in nightclub

If you have been asked to be the chief bridesmaid for your best friend’s wedding, you are probably incredibly excited. It’s a big honor being chosen as the bride’s right-hand women – out of all her friends and family she wanted you.

While being chief bridesmaid is exciting, it’s important to remember that the job comes with lots of responsibility. The biggest one being organizing your friend’s bachelorette party. To help you ensure that you throw your friend the most amazing bachelorette party, we have put together some tips and ideas:

Ask the bride what she wants

Don’t make the mistake of not talking to your friend before you start planning her party. It might be that there is something she has always wanted to do, so it’s a good idea to ask her. Maybe she hates the idea of having a stripper, but would love to have a fancy dress theme – if you don’t ask, you won’t know.

While some brides love the idea of having a crazy night out, others prefer a more sophisticated event. To make sure that you know the type of thing the bride would like, it’s essential that you ask her.

Make a list of who to invite

Sit down and write up a list of all of the bride’s closest female friends and relatives, including any close relatives on the groom’s side. Give the list to your friend and ask her to edit it by taking people off and adding on others who you have forgotten to invite.

Once you have a list of guests, think about the types of things that you could do. If the bride want a chance to let her hair down, but she also wants her older relatives to be able to join in, perhaps the celebrations could be split up. You could organize a relaxing spa day or afternoon tea at a nice hotel for everyone to attend. Followed by a night out in the evening for the younger ladies.

Be organized with the money side of things

When it comes to the money side of things, it’s important that you are as organized as possible. It can often be incredibly difficult to get all the guests to pay up on time, which can lead to bickering within the group.

If you go through a hen party company, you may find that they offer services for managing the money side of things. This can be incredibly useful, as it means that no one is left out of pocket. Choose the date carefully

Pick a date at least two weeks before the wedding, and under no circumstances, hold the hen party the night before the wedding. This is a recipe for total disaster, so avoid doing this at all costs.

Once you have a potential date in mind, contact the bride’s closest friends to ensure that they can be there. If she’s missing a close friend, it could ruin the whole event for her. So making sure that all of her best friends can attend is crucial.

Follow these tips, and you can ensure that you organize an amazing bachelorette party.
