5 Simple Skincare Rules to Follow

We all want glowing, tight and youthful looking skin now and as we age. However, not all of us are prepared to go under the knife in order to achieve this. Are there ways to age-proof your skin without paying for and undergoing invasive cosmetic procedures? Of course there are! Here are just some of your options:

  1. Fork out for a quality anti-aging product

There are so many skincare products out there that claim they can turn back the hands of time. It can be very overwhelming! Unfortunately, this part of your project for younger looking skin will require some effort and money. You should do some research, talk to a skin specialist and try out samples to help you find the best all-in-one anti-aging treatment for you. As a general rule (although there are exceptions) the cheaper the product, the more likely it is to contain harmful ingredients. You will probably need to spend more than you would like to on a product that is effective and natural.

  1. Wear sunscreen (every.single.day.)

You have probably heard this before, but it cannot be stressed enough. UV rays are the biggest contributors to wrinkles on our skin. To stop the sun speeding up the ageing process of your skin, you should wear a good quality SPF (of at least 15) 365 days a year.

  1. Eat up your cod liver oil

Your grandma probably used to force feed this to you when you were younger, but she is on to a good thing! Cod liver oil is beneficial for the skin, helping to keep it hydrated and healthy from the inside out. This oil also improves the condition of your hair and nails. Capsules are the most inoffensive way of taking your daily dose. However, do make sure you take them on an empty stomach!

  1. Clean up your lifestyle

If you lead an unhealthy way of life, this will be visible on your skin. Smoking, alcohol, poor diet and too much time in front of the TV or computer will show up on your skin as wrinkles, dark circles, pimples, dry patches and dull color. Think carefully about the areas of your lifestyle that you could clean up. If you don’t, your mission to have younger looking skin for longer is likely to fail.

  1. Use a good foundation

As our skin ages, the tone and surface of the skin become uneven. You may also develop age spots, sun spots and dark circles under the eyes. A good foundation will help to cover blotchy areas resulting in an even tone and smooth texture. Try to find a lightweight product as this is less likely to gather in the folds of your skin or look cakey on the surface.

As you can see, there are several ways that you can keep your skin looking young and healthy without resorting to surgical procedures. We hope that you find these options helpful and that you end up with glowing, tight and youthful looking skin.

See you next time!
