Epilation

Anyone who is sensitive to plucking, threading or waxing might be wary of using an epilator. A lot of women say that it’s extremely painful, but it depends on your tolerance for pain. If you’re okay with waxing, you could give an epilator a try. It’s like having lots of tiny tweezers plucking the hairs out of your leg. Although it might hurt a bit more than waxing, you can do smaller areas at a time. Plus, it’s cleaner since there’s no wax residue or shaving cream leftover when you’re done. It’s a slower method than waxing, but it’s easy to do at home and will give you a smooth finish.

At-home IPL

You might have heard about people using IPL (intense pulsed light) as an alternative to laser hair removal. It’s not exactly the same thing, but it’s used in the same way at professional clinics. However, you can also use it at home if you get yourself a personal gadget. The method uses light and heat to target the hair follicle. The gentle treatment removes the hair, and you only need to repeat it every two to four weeks. There is a downside, however, and that’s the price. You won’t find an IPL system for less than a few hundred dollars.

Thermicon Technology

There are also alternatives to IPL that work using similar techniques. One of the most well-known systems comes from the brand No!No! which uses Thermicon technology. It’s similar to IPL in that it uses heat to loosen hairs from the follicles. You can choose from a range of different models for your body and face. If you think you might want one, compare the No No Pro versus the Classic, as well as other choices. You’ll also find the Micro, Hair and Pro. Like IPL systems, you do have to be prepared to pay the initial cost of the gadget.

Anti-regrowth Spray

You can also get anti-regrowth creams and sprays. These products don’t remove hair, but they do stop it growing back. So your at-home hair removal routine could be easier by delaying the growth of hair in the areas where you remove it. You can get them in creams, gels, sprays and serums to halt hair after waxing or other methods of removal.

If hair removal is a nightmare for you, you can make it easier by finding the best treatments and products. Try some of the recommended methods above to change your routine around.
