At once the youngest cast member of Days of Our Lives and as the current stalwart in hit TV series Pretty Little Liars, Ashley Benson is no stranger to Hollywood; her classic beauty takes the spotlight on the Summer 2015 issue of FASHION Magazine, on newsstands and iPad May 18, 2015. The star of the upcoming sci-fi flick Pixels, alongside Peter Dinklage and Adam Sandler, spoke with FASHION about her role as Lady Lisa, her next big career move, love in the public eye and more in the below excerpts from the exclusive interview:

On her controversial 2012 film Spring Breakers

“My family hated the movie, but I told them, ‘There are going to be films that you are not going to want to support, but you don’t have to see those films.’ I wanted that challenge.”

On playing video game warrior Lady Lisa in Pixels:

“There aren’t a lot of films right now with strong female leads. There should be more–especially after Spring Breakers happened. We are all waiting.”

On her least favourite part about the job:

“I hate the red carpet. It’s nerve-racking. People are yelling at you and pictures are being taken at all angles. It is not a comfortable thing for a human to experience!”

On dating in Hollywood:

“I don’t think I would be able to date a high-profile actor the way Angelina Jolie has. It’s too much attention when two powerful people are together.”

On her upcoming film Chronically Metropolitan

“The director wanted to know if I’d ever been through heartbreak or lost my first love … He wanted to show two people who are in love and break up and then see each other a year after the fact. I was like, ‘All those boxes are ticked!’”
