Build Your Summer Wardrobe On A Budget

There is only one month left of spring, which can only mean one thing. Summer is almost here! So that means it’s almost time to update our wardrobe for the hot, sunny months. Buying new summer clothes can get fairly expensive (as I learned the hard way), however, it is totally possible to get some great pieces and pull together your new outfits on a budget. You just need to be creative when you go out shopping! Want to know how to nail this summer’s key styles while remaining in your budget? Read on!

Buy Key Pieces

There are some items of clothing that will never go out of fashion. Things like denim, cropped pants, and classic heels. If you buy these key pieces, always look for top-quality stuff that will last for a few years. This will stop you from having to buy them again and again. Try not to buy clothes that will date quickly either. If you do, though, keep hold of them. Don’t throw them out, as they may come back in fashion at some point in the future!

Shop In The Sales

Try and do most of your clothes shopping in the sales. You’ll be able to find a lot of deals offering value for money. Not only that, think about going warehouse shopping. You can find out more about warehouse shopping on websites such as styledemocracy.com that offer updates on warehouse sales from top brand names like Nordstrom, Nw Balance and more. As big-name brands are selling to you directly from their warehouse, they cut out the middle seller. This helps them keep costs down!

Lingerie is Just as Important

It’s not just the clothes people see that are important, but rather, what’s keep all the goods together underneath. The right lingerie will do wonders for your closet, and keep everything looking right for your body and shape. Whether it’s bras, underwear, camps or slips like that from marksandspencer.com/l/lingerie/slips, if you are buying clothes on a budget, it is a very good idea to invest in good undergarments. Let’s be honest, a proper fitting bra or underwear will have the ability to make an inexpensive piece look like it is worth a million dollars!

Buy Neutral

Neutral clothing not only looks classic, but it literally goes with everything. So rather than dressing in all vibrant colours that may not work for every season, play it safe and stick to a few black or nude key pieces in your wardrobe. An all-black outfit is very slimming and a nude or beige piece against vibrant or pastel summer shades look amazing. Plus, black and nude items of clothing will never go out of fashion!

Visit A Tailor

This may sound like an expensive option, but it can work out very cheap. You will have to pay a lot of money up front, but it is certainly worth it. If a garment is tailored to fit your body perfectly, it will look very expensive. Not only that but it is sure to last a very long time. Even if visiting a tailor could work out quite expensive, you will eventually save money as you won’t be replacing clothes so often. You may also have items in your closet that you love but don’t fit and that’s where a tailor comes in. You can basically reinvent your wardrobe just from the help of the right tailor.

What are some of your tips for building a summer wardrobe on a budget?
