Chiara Ferragni Covers FASHION Magazine’s Winter Issue

If you aren’t familiar with the name, Chiara Ferragni or her site, The Blonde Salad, then you must be living under a rock. Known as one of the world’s most followed figures in fashion, The Blonde Salad’s Chiara Ferragni, covers the Winter 2016 issue of FASHION Magazine, on newsstands and iPad November 16, 2015. The Italian-born entrepreneur and shoe designer sat down with FASHION to talk about the business behind her brand and her take on the blogging world. On the criticism over blogging:

“It’s bizarre to say all bloggers are sellouts. That kind of thinking is outdated. People who are serious about this business do so much more—they have companies and brands.”

On her large entourage:

“We have a big team of 18 people, and we have up to 20 or 30 contracts going on at once. I think you should always have a big team behind you if you are a big brand because it makes you think big.”

On brand partnerships:

“If someone were to give me money to wear a bag I didn’t like, I wouldn’t be doing it. I would lose my credibility right away. Some people will take the money and not care, but they aren’t the ones who are going to last.”

On being more than a blogger:

“When someone calls me a blogger, I think ‘That’s one of the things I used to do.’ I’m a creative director for my shoe brand, I’m the editor-in-chief of The Blonde Salad, which is a website and not just a blog anymore.”
