‘Film By the Rock’ in Yorkville

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Toronto Film Festival, Bloor-Yorkville is pleased to present “Film by the Rock” – an outdoor, big screen cinema experience – taking place on Saturday, September 12th from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm in the Village of Yorkville Park at Cumberland Street and Bellair Street. Patrons will enjoy a free, open-air screening of The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. The film captured the Grolsch People’s Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival in 2014 and went on to receive numerous Oscar nominations later that year. Taking place during the darkest days of World War II and based on the real life story of legendary cryptanalyst Alan Turing, the film portrays the nail-biting race against time by Turing and his brilliant team of code-breakers at Britain’s top-secret Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park.

Street Closure Notice: Cumberland Street, from Old York Lane to Bellair Street, will be closed to car traffic for pedestrian safety.
