The beginning off the year for me wasn’t so much about resolutions as it was about lessons learned. Along with the goals on my list that I am setting out to do, I have also come to know how important it is to treat myself and show myself some “self love” so I can stay motivated and happy no matter where life takes me.

While I already have a goal set for the next few months and a purse that is on my wish list as a congratulatory gift, I know there there are loads of ways to show yourself some love to remind yourself how far you’ve come, and how much further you can go in life. 

Whether you are just setting your goals and looking to get inspired or you have reached a goal and looking to officially treat yourself, have a look below at some options that I am sure will make you smile!

As I’ve mentioned in a post recently, good skincare is crucial when caring for your skin. Great skincare is also one of my favourite ways to pamper my skin and show myself some TLC! Everyone needs a little help to motivate themselves sometimes, and a book filled with positive thoughts is a great tool for everyone to have on the bookshelf. The perfect solution for when you are looking to get motivated, stay motivated or keep your head in the game. This is a particularly great idea because, who doesn’t love beautiful jewellery? I happen to love my gold name necklace, so a sentimental jewellery gift like this infinity necklace with name or statement piece will be great reminder of your accomplishments.

I don’t know any gal that doesn’t love new stationary to get motivated for work, especially the creative gals out there! Not only is a great way to get organized for he new year, but a new notebook or agenda is something to help motivate the work to follow. After all, a to-do list is a lot nicer to look at when it’s in a pretty book, am I right?

Picking up flowers is not just because I like pretty things ( I really do) but it’s a bi-weekly ritual that keeps me motivated and thinking positive. I always love looking at my bedside or desk and seeing gorgeous blooms to greet me. What can I say, it’s the small joys, but give it a try the next time you need motivation or finished off a busy week. I promise it will make you smile!

A dish of homemade deliciousness

To some, I know that getting in the kitchen and cooking up something delicious is not only something for the belly, but it can be really calming for the soul. Cook or bake a tasty dish for yourself and don’t forget to make it something you really love. There are lots of recipes to choose from online, and you don’t have to be an expert to create some pretty spectacular dishes! Cooking up something is also incredibly rewarding and can make for a great #Foodgram Instagram!

I’m a firm believer that sometimes treating yourself is not about something material, but rather what can benefit your health and attitude. I have come to know the benefits of items like vaporizers in your home and there are so many stunning vaporizers that complement the décor of any stylish home. Win, win! Not only do they look great, but you can use them to help you relax with lavender or rejuvenate with peppermint essential oils. There are loads of these oils to choose from, and aromatherapy has long been considered a fantastic tool for promoting health and well-being.

Regardless of the goals you are setting whether they are work related or based on your own personal growth, it’s important to know when you deserve to treat yourself and offer yourself encouragement so you can further motivate and challenge yourself. I am on my own personal road to self love and I encourage you all to give yourself the TLC you need!
