Healthy Eats Food Review: Crave Healthy Habits

The Story Behind Crave Healthy Habits:

Crave Healthy Habits started as an University project turned business. The owners knew how hard it was to eat healthy but were adamant on changing the healthy fast food market. The vision behind Crave had to be perfect and Chef Jono was the only Chef who could match this vision. With that being said, Crave Healthy Habits opened up in May 2013 at 145 King Street West in the retail concourse.

My Experience:

Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to make a quick visit to Crave Healthy Habits and that was definitely a smart choice.

From the moment I walked in, I knew I had made the right decision to try out what they had to offer. Veronica, the female at the counter was quite friendly and had a smile on her face, the entire time I was there. I got the chance to taste all of the cold and hot dishes which were all delicious. However, my two favourite dishes were Unagi and Californication. Scrumptious was the first word that came to mind when I first tasted both dishes. Another visit to Crave will be necessary in the near future.

Steamed Lunch Box Favourite:

Californication : (Derived from the Red Hot Chili Peppers song)

Ingredients: Quinoa or brown rice, Napa Cabbage, Snow Peas, Corn, Rainbow Peppers, Alfalfa Sprouts, Peanuts, Sesame Seeds and Fresh Coriander.
Dressing: Honey Sesame & Thai Peanut

A bit of a tangy flavour which I loved incorporated with spicy dressings (Honey Sesame & Thai Peanut) The grilled chicken was fresh off the grill and the Alfalfa sprouts were soft and fresh, of course.

Cool Lunch Box Favourite:

Unagi : (Derived from the episode of Friends, when Ross educates Rachel and Phoebe about Unagi)

Ingredients: Avocados, Baby Spinach, Grape Tomatoes, Carrots, Cucucumbrs, Beets, Dill and Local Cream Cheese

Dressing: Roast Garlic & Thai Coconut

The Roast garlic & Thai Coconut dressings were fabolous, both were quite tasty and not too spicy. The Salmon and Cream Cheese were the perfect mix to incorporate with the Avocado. What made this box even better was the amount of protein and carbohydrates mixed together. I would definitely recommend Unagi as a post-workout meal for any fitness lovers.

For vegetarians, the best dish for you, would be the Golden Rhythm which has a Butter and Lime juice as a dressing along with the excessive amount of leafy greens. The Cream Cheese gives you an unexpected taste not what you would expect from such a healthy meal.
