New Years Eve Party DIY Inspiration

I’m finding that New Years Eve celebrations have transitioned from a crazy and packed evening dancing tip my feet hurt at a club that is clearly passed their capacity to a chic party with the closest of my friends, maybe including some dancing (with no shoes of course), hors d’oeuvres, games and much more.

While some may enjoy partying at a club or hotel for NYE, I love the idea of hosting a quaint party with decor that is full of sparkle! From glittered champagne bottles to a festive tassle banner, all of these options are easy to DIY yourself.

Get your scissors, glue and glitter out and prep your home for NYE! You’re friends will be impressed with your festive taste!

Gold Glitter Champagne Bottle

This is as simple as it gets when it comes to DIY’s. Take a few bottles of bubbly and give them a shiny makeover by brushing Mod Podge all over the bottom half of the bottle and dusting gold glitter all over. You might want to do this a few days before the party so everything is set and you won’t have glitter everywhere.

Confetti Balloons

Balloons scream party, don’t they? For these balloons, you will definitely need helium. If you don’t have access to helium, take sheer balloons to your local party store and request for balloons to be blown up. Buy any kind of confetti you like depending on your party colours. A lover of gold and black for NYE, the confetti will really pop inside a sheer balloon. Speaking of pop, when the balloons do, the confetti will add a nice touch for the party!

NYE Props

Photos are bound to be taken during the fun night, so why not add some props? Mustaches are always a huge hit and these are really easy to make. Use a razor cutter to cut out styles from a foam board and hot glue the pieces to long sticks easily found at your local craft or dollar store. If you want to keep with the theme, add some glitter or spray paint a few different colours.

Tassle Banner

While some opt for the traditional “Happy New Year” banner, these tassels are just too cute! Use this easy to follow guide on how to put together a great banner for your NYE party! Mix and match different colours to create a great background for photos with your friends. You might just want to keep the banner up all year long!

Sparkle Cocktail Stir Stick

Drinks are guaranteed to be had whether they are nonalcoholic or a glass of bubbly, so a festive addition to any drink is a sparkly stir stick. Can’t seem to find them? Pick up some tinsel garland and cut up small pieces and glue them to stir sticks easily found at the dollar store. Add a slice of strawberry below the sparkle and it adds a chic and fun touch to any drink on the menu.
