Tips On Avoiding Common Wedding Disasters

Your wedding should be a dream come true; it should be the best day of your life. Why then, when you speak to former brides, do they always say the same thing? ‘It would have been perfect if this hadn’t gone wrong and we’d got that right.

Typically, it’s because they’ve forgotten about problems with a wedding that can turn your special day into a disaster. This might be because key individuals haven’t shown up, double bookings or weather woes. A wedding is a special event and because of this, there’s a lot that can go wrong. Not to worry though because we know how to dodge these 3 big issues that can happen.

Double Booked

This is actually more common than I thought when planning a wedding. Usually, you’ll get a phone call from your suspiciously timid wedding planner, a few days before the wedding. It turns out the venue was accidentally double booked and in this situation, it’s first come, first serve. So, if you were the second one to arrange a booking, you are out of luck. However, there is a way around the conundrum. You should have a backup plan, and it’s not uncommon for wedding parties to have at least some type of backup plan. While this can be an extremely stressful time, with only a few days until the wedding, the only thing you can do is act quick. Talk to your close friends and family and use your wedding planner as much as possible for help. It might seem impossible at the time, but it just means you have to get creative or opt to diy something simple.

Bad Weather

Rain shouldn’t be a problem for a wedding and neither should bad weather. Unless of course, your reception or the ceremony is being held outside. If that’s the case, rain can be a tad more serious than a bother. This is why it’s best to hire a gazebo or an indoor space. You can find one at http://www.platinumeventrentals.com/rentals and can then set it up if the weather is forecast to turn bad on the day. If it doesn’t leave it down and enjoy the sunshine in your beautiful white dress. Again, this is just a precaution that you may want to consider. If you are getting married outside and you’re renting furniture, do make sure it’s waterproof. If you don’t, you might lose the rent deposit.

It also doesn’t hurt to have umbrellas available!

Arriving Late

Arriving late to your own wedding is not something that any bride should have to suffer through, but there’s a reason this issue appears in almost every Hollywood wedding chic flick you can think of. It’s a problem that’s more common than you think. Often at least one member of the wedding party is delayed whether that’s the bride, the groom or the maid of honor. If you want your wedding to be perfect everyone needs to arrive on time, there’s only one way to ensure that. You need to hire a vehicle big enough to transport everyone to the venue. This is particularly important if you are getting married in a city like Toronto or San Diego where traffic can be a nightmare. Luckily you can use a service like http://gogocharters.com/san-diego-charter-bus to get you there. They’ll make sure everyone gets to the venue on time.

Avoid these problems and have a wonderful wedding with no issues to ruin your special day.

Thanks for posting such great tips on avoiding wedding disasters. Weather here in sunny AZ is only a problem if you’re getting married in the summer. Then you have to worry about the heat ruining your plans. Great article.
