Top Tips for Hosting the Perfect Party

If you’re a party girl, you’ll probably use any excuse to throw one. And when you don’t have a reason to host one, you attend any you can bag an invite to. But putting on your own party is better, especially if you love to be in charge. Although we might have more casual parties in our homes, at the beach or even in the park, we don’t often get the chance to host a big one. We tend to save them for weddings, major anniversaries and birthdays, and other significant life events. But we should have proper parties more often, even if we’re not celebrating. Next time you put on an event, use these top tips for hosting the perfect party to make sure it’s more than just a keg of beer and a few bowls of chips.

Pick a Location

Parties at home are fun if you want an intimate gathering. But if you want to go all-out, it’s usually difficult to do in your house or garden. For a proper event that everyone will remember, find another location that you can reserve or hire for your big day. First of all, will it be inside or outside? If you risk an outdoor party, make sure the weather is guaranteed to be great. However, you can always protect from the risk of showers with a marquee or tent for everyone to shelter under. You could reserve space at a park or on a beach, but choose somewhere you can decorate properly.

Hire Furniture

Throwing a big party is the perfect opportunity to set everything up however you want. At home, you usually have to make do with your own furniture. But if you’re putting on a bigger event, you can use a company like Betta Party Hire to do what you want. Think about how you want to set everything up, and what the order of the party will be. Do you need tables and chairs for a meal, or perhaps sofas around a dancefloor? Don’t forget to think about other items too. Maybe you could hire a pool or ping-pong table, or even a beach volleyball set.

Choose Catering

When you’re putting on a big event, you don’t want to do the cooking yourself. Even if you’re keeping it small, it’s more special if you have the party catered. But you need to decide what sort of food you want. If it’s a more casual event, a buffet would be an excellent idea. Or you might want to have a more formal three-course meal. If you want to choose something more fun, you could have everyone cook their own food. Each table could have a little barbecue or grill on which to make their food.

Put on Entertainment

Of course, you need to make sure everyone has fun, so don’t forget about the entertainment. You’ll need to think about who’s coming and what they enjoy. A DJ and a dance floor might be great for your friends, but older relatives might want to hear a band. If there are children around, they’ll need something to do too. So think about hiring an entertainer, or setting up a corner for them to do arts and crafts.

If you love organizing and giving everyone a good time, planning a party doesn’t have to be stressful. You just need to know what you want to do and go after it.
