Wine of the Week: Barefoot’s Bubbly Moscato Spumante

Whether you are celebrating the holidays, an engagement, or the fact that it is a Tuesday at 6 o’clock, a bubbly is the perfect way to cheers life! Personally, in the spirit of Holly GoLightly and a less melancholy Bridget Jones, I like to have a bottle of bubbly and my favourite flute on hand at all times ready- You never know when the occasion will strike!

Recently, I was lucky enough to take home a bottle of Barefoot’s Bubbly Moscato Spumante, a California sparkling wine. It is light, crisp and fruity filled with the tastes of peach, apricot and melon. Even the bubbles are light, making this sparkling wine ‘easy-to-drink’ and accessible for everyone.

Another great trait of this delicious sparkling wine is versatility. It works very well in sparkling cocktails such as Mimosas or Bellini’s. Add some mango juice, raspberries and blueberries for a magical mango mimosa. I also discovered that this Bubbly Moscato can be used in other yummy recipes such as cupcakes and strawberry shortcake. Check out more recipes here.

The price itself is worth celebrating. You can pick up this at the LCBO for a beautiful $13.25. Enjoy this fruity and fabulous sparkling wine, Toronto! Raise a glass to you!
