Toronto in the summer is a beautiful thing. Patio season, Blue Jays games with the Dome open, and my absolute favourite – Summerlicious. I wait for this event every summer to start and even though we are just a few days in, I’ve already got my list of restaurants in mind.

Every summer, and winter as well, 150 restaurants all over the GTA set up a 3-course prix-fixe menu for those who love food. That is everyone, isn’t it? Ranging from only $15-$25 for lunch and $25-$45 for dinner, you’re able to sample some of Toronoto’s finest dishes and it won’t break the bank. Whether you’re looking for a laid back night or a fancy dinner out, Summerlicious has you covered.

Taking place from July 4 – 20, Summerlicious offers amazing food at unbeatable prices, and while our list can go on until infinity, here are just our top 5 restaurants you need to check out.

Situated at the top of the TD Tower, Canoe boats breath taking views and an impeccable cuisine. This is always a must for me because enjoying Canoe during Summerlicious is an absolute steal, especially since it’s known as being one of Canada’s top restaurants.

Cantine is a new one for me this year. I chose it based on the extensive menu choices and they sound divine! A more casual feel to this restaurant but the leather chairs provide some cool elegance. At $15 for lunch and $25 for dinner, how can you go wrong?

A must return from last year is Pan on the Danforth. I really enjoyed my meal last year, so I definitely had to return. Located in one of the most vibrant parts of the city, once you’ve gorged yourself on this tasty menu, you can easily walk off some of your food baby. I may not be able to pronounce it properly, but you’ve gotta try the kolokithokeftedes. Talk about mouth watering!

Mildred’s Temple Kitchen is another favourite. Fresh food made from scratch is what they do here. Situated in Liberty Village, this restaurant is one i frequently visit even when Summerlicious isn’t in session. This year, I’m dying to try the black olive caramel and coffee glazed beef short ribs. Drooling yet? They’ve got napkins for that.

Finally, I want to go fancy one more time. STOCK Restaurant Bar & Lounge is located on the 31st floor of the Trump International Hotel and Tower. Again, being able to enjoy this cuisine at $45 is a major bargain, so go! You’ll thank me later. If you think the views are spectacular, just wait for the food. From seafood to steak and so much in between, the menu also boasts locally sourced ingredients and vegetarian options. Need more? They also have an extensive collection of fine wines, local craft beers and spirits.

By no means is this list complete, and you can bet i’ll be checking out even more places, but if this is your first time trying summerlicious you will not regret it and you’ll be hooked just like me!.
