4 Spots in Montreal You Need to Visit Now

I had mentioned that I was in Montreal over my birthday weekend and at this point, visiting Montreal every year, I’ve accumulated some favourite spots that are equally pretty and delicious when you need a spot to just sit back with a friend and chat.

While this list is forever growing with each visit to Montreal, these are just a few new favourites that I urge you to visit the next time you are in beautiful Old Port.

Dandy

You know yellow is my latest obsession, so I had to visit Dandy for my birthday brunch, and though this spot has only been open a short time, I have no doubt that it will be here to stay. Located on St Jacques street, this restaurant is one that sets the mood for any occasion whether you want to enjoy brunch, lunch, or a drink with friends.

Even though we only popped in for a latte and a shared plate of Ricotta Pancakes – they were SO delicious, the menu makes it the perfect spot to enjoy flatbreads, sandwiches and all the vino!

Tommy Cafe

Have you even been to Old Montreal if you haven’t been to Tommy Cafe? Luckily, what started as just one location has grown to two, so you know that Tommy is doing something right.

This is where my absolute favourite chai latte is from, but they also have the prettiest interiors and tastiest treats, like the cronut. While you can always expect to see loads of people on laptops working away, you can always see the trendiest of Montrealers visiting Tommy to either grab a coffee or enjoy a bite to eat.

Restaurant Mélisse

This spot was one that I wanted to visit the last time I was in Montreal, but unfortunately didn’t work out. This time around however I was dedicated to seeing it for myself since I had heard such great things. I have to admit that my initial curiosity stemmed from the decor, but I am happy to report that the decor is only secondary to the great service and yummy food.

We visited Restaurant Mélisse before heading to Bota Bota on my birthday, and it was the perfect way to start the day. We enjoyed some lattes and eats like their breakfast sandwich and fruit & yogurt bowl and everything was delicious. I love a menu that is simple but yummy and it totally hit the spot before our spa experience. The staff were SO sweet, so you know that the next time we are in Montreal, I will be coming back!

Caffe Un Po’ Di Piu

This happened to be a spot that wasn’t planned, but once I entered the diner-like Caffe Un Po’ Di Piu on our final day in Montreal, I was happy that I had the opportunity to stumble into this beautiful spot. With only a short amount of time in our schedule, I decided to sit at the stunning bar and I swapped a latte for a negroni and chatted with my sister while we nibbled on some olives and chips.

While I didn’t get a chance to order a plate, I caught a glimpse of some orders passing me by and its safe to say that this is not only a spot to enjoy a drink, but to cozy up in the corner and share some small plates with friends.
