BRIKA + The Shoebox Project Team Up for Mother’s Day

We’ve previously written about BRIKA here, a Canadian start-up online experience which features the work of authentic makers, artisans and designers has teamed up with The Shoebox Project to help give gifts to women in shelters for Mother’s Day.

The Shoebox Project is a charity founded in 2011 by four sisters-in-law – Caroline Mulroney Lapham, and Jessica, Vanessa and Katy Mulroney  to help donate shoeboxes filled with little luxuries to women in shelters across the country. In December 2013, the Shoebox Project delivered gifts to more than 9,100 women in 188 shelters in Canada and we hope those numbers are only going to grow by December 2014.
On May 2nd and 3rd, BRIKA’s pop-up shop at the HBC store on Queen Street will be a drop-off location for Shoeboxes for Mother’s Day. We encourage all of you to bring in an already-filled shoebox or make a donation in-store. Once you bring in your finished shoebox to BRIKA, you will be given the opportunity to decorate a box in-store and The Shoebox Project will ensure those boxes get filled and given to women at shelters for Mother’s Day.
There’s nothing like helping out for a good cause, especially just in time for Mother’s Day!  Will we see you there?
