Met Gala Red Carpet Favourites 2014

Met Gala Red Carpet Favourites 2014

Another year, another Met Gala red carpet! Last night, the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala was a wonderful mix of art and fashion. This year, the annual fund-raiser for the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute was based around its Charles James: Beyond Fashion exhibit for which Vogue’s Anna Wintour issued the dress code for the Gala. As we like to call it, the Celebrity Prom, the red carpet was full of beautiful, grand and (sometimes) ridiculous fashions. See our favourites below!

Best Dressed Women:

The ladies last night didn’t hold back, in true Met Gala style. From bare midriffs from Rihanna and Cara to full on ball gowns from Karolina, Hailee, Suki and the Olsen Twins, there was every colour of the rainbow and every style dress on that red carpet last night. While some may not have liked Chloë Grace Moretz in Chanel Couture, we love her for taking a risk and let’s be honest, she looked amazing in it! Which of these looks did you love the most? We haven’t decided our top 3 favourites yet, but its impossible not to have Blake Lively on it! Isn’t that what perfection looks like?

Best Dressed Couples:

There is no better accessory than some arm candy. These couples looked great last night in their complimenting looks. The Becks looked amazing (of course) in matching cream ensembles while Beyonce and Jay-Z looked picture perfect in black and white. Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger always, and we mean always look great. We’re obsessed with Jackson’s suit too!

Standout Beauty Looks:

The fashion doesn’t have to be the only thing we talk about! What’s the best way to compliment your dress for the Met? Makeup and hair of course! While so many looks nailed it yesterday, these four ladies were my favourite. Rita Ora looked polished and added hints of gold to her look with a golf leaf accent in her hair and stunning ear cuff. BFF’s Taylor and Selena kept their look clean and classic but it worked perfectly, while our girl, Emma Stone went for a natural bronzed look and loose side braid.

Best Dressed Men:

The men of course have it easier than the ladies, but in no way did they not show us what they’re made of. White jackets were big last night with Frank Ocean, Bryan Cranston and Jay Z, while Ryan Reynolds had some fun with a velvet jacket and burgundy bow-tie. Ahem, can you see how perfect Matt Bomer looks? Swoon!
