My Fave Guilt-Free Dessert Spots in Toronto

I’ve been thinking about discussing new topics and features on the blog, and little by little I’m slowly beginning to incorporate new ideas here, and featuring more of Toronto and its surrounding areas was high on the list.

Considering this blog is called, Girls of T.O, I thought that I would do more on the blog here than just talk about me. Of course, things aren’t going to change too much around here, but I do want to bring some new content to the blog. With that being said, I wanted to kick things off with a few of my favourites – sweet favourites that is. Over time, Toronto has built a pretty amazing food scene here and it seems like only yesterday when most corners only featured a Tim Hortons or Starbucks, but now we are home to some amazing must-eat spots in Toronto that are always changing.

Lately, I’ve been making more of an effort to venture out and discover new tastes and to be honest, I’ve really been on a guilt-free dessert trip. Whether you have a food allergy or just simply looking to try something different, I have put together a few spots in Toronto that have become my go -to guilt-free treat.

Tori’s Bakeshop

Tori’s continues to be one of my favourites and to be honest, it is in large part due to their infamous pink doughnuts. I was originally dragged here by my gluten-intolerant sister, but ever since I tried a few of their sweet organic treats (and drinks), I was sold. While their doughnuts that melt in your mouth are my favourite, they have so many baked goods to choose from and things switch up all the time so you are always trying something new!

Sorelle & Co.

I remember seeing images on Instagram of gals at Sorelle & Co and was immediately drawn to its ultra girly decor and mood, and truthfully didn’t even register that it was a spot that focused on nut fee, gluten free and vegan baked goods until I visited them. I quickly got acquainted with their lattes, smoothie bowls and their beautifully crafted baked goods like their cupcakes (shown here) and their nanaimo bar which is my ultimate fave! They also do some spectacular cake designing!

Kupfert & Kim

This is most definitely a spot that I didn’t think I would like much, but anytime I’m in the area of one, I’m always popping in! While Kuperfert & Kim specializes in vegan and vegetarian food options, they also have the most delicious gluten-free waffle topped with berries and hemp seeds with additional coconut-cashew ice cream. I mean, c’mon!

Bunners Bakeshop

Bunners is another vegetarian/vegan restaurant that also happens to feature some amazing baked goods to hit the sweet spot. I’m talking cupcakes, coffee cake doughnuts, apricot squares s’mores pop tarts! There is no shortage of yummy guilt-fee options when looking to fill that sweet tooth void

Urban Herbivore

Urban Herbivore is one of my fave spots for their bowls and sandwiches, but their cupcakes are what dreams are made of. They switch things up in terms of flavours but I haven’t met an Urban Herbivore cupcake that I didn’t like! They also have yummy powerbite balls, so if you are looking for a tasty lunch option with a side of sweets, then UH is where its at!
