Perrier Street Art Label Launch Event

Lat week, Perrier celebrated the launch of their limited edition bottles and cans with a bash at the Storys Building downtown. This unique venue was the perfect location for their premium and cutting edge street art labels and deliciously distinct Perrier cocktails. Three extraordinary street artists (JonOne, a Paris residing New Yorker, Sasu, a Japanese street artist and Kobra, a Brazilian humanist) have created Perrier inspired street art, restyling classic bottles and cans with bold, vibrant provocations of eccentricity and joi de vivre.

With the fabulous DJ Lissa Monet spinning, JonOne himself working the room and street art donning the walls, the party was the perfect personification of this kaleidoscopic, visually compelling, colourful limited edition Perrier line.

The cocktails were aptly named: JonOne Gem, Sasu’s Kaleidoscope, Street Art Smash and King Kobra. Each drink included a fruit juice (grapefruit, watermelon, pear and lime), a spirit (gin, tequila, vodka and rum), intricate bitter and syrups while highlighting the best of Perrier in limited edition Kobra designed bottles. Designed for this particular event, each cocktail contained the personality, colour and creativity of each artist.

Despite the drinks menu sounding sweet and sugary, I can assure you that the mix of Perrier and gin and/or Perrier, vodka and watermelon, was perfectly crisp and tasty. I like to think that I can spot a heartless cocktail but each of these drinks showed true character. Perrier and its zero calorie carbonated flavours are the perfect mixer alternatives to soda, tonic or 7 Up: I may be a Perrier mixer convert.

There were two cocktails which I particularly loved and I invite the Girls of TO to pick up some Perrier and try them yourself. Let us know what you think of Perrier’s JonOne Gem and Sasu’s Kaleidoscope:

JonOne Gem

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz Gin

1 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice

1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice

1/2 oz Simple Syrup (1:1 sugar to water)

2 dashes Fee’s grapefruit bitters

3 oz Perrier

Method:

Stir ingredients together and pour into your favourite tumbler or tall glass with ice

Tip:

Instead of Simple Syrup, sweeten to taste with your favourite sweetener (sugar, honey, agave, nectar, stevia, etc). Zest a grapefruit peel to replace grapefruit bitters.

Sasu’s Kaleidoscope

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz Vodka

2 1/2 Fresh Watermelon Juice

1 oz Fresh lime juice

1 oz Salted simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water; 1 tsp of sea salt to 2 cups syrup)

8 Mint leaves

5 oz Perrier’s

Method:

Stir ingredients together and pour into a tumbler with ice

Tip:

Instead of simple syrup, sweeten to taste with your favourite sweetener (sugar, honey, agave, nectar, stevia, etc)
