Fashion and style are such beautiful things not only because they can be esthetically pleasing but also the way they evolve and inspire is limitless. Aside from adoring classic icons such as Audrey Hepburn or Coco Chanel, we’re often influenced by other industry professionals and bloggers.

This is why we’re hoping to periodically feature some of our favourite fashion lovers from across the globe. Since we’re huge fans of Chanel, starting with Chanelette, YouTube guru Ieva Maslauskaite, seemed like a no-brainer. She is a stunning porcelain-skinned, pouty-lipped blonde based in Lithuania. She recently celebrated two years on YouTube and boasts over 750,000 video views!

Aleksandra watches her channel almost religiously and having tried a few products with great success thanks to Ieva’s “favourites” videos, she’s developed a trust for her opinion on beauty and fashion. For a glimpse into the Chanelette’s world, check out her “First Date: Day to Night Makeup” video at the bottom of the post and her blog, Lipstick On Your Cup.

We love how feminine and classy she looks with an edgy twist of chic. She always looks flawless, and her hair is every woman’s dream! Because of these fabulous reasons we sat down for a chat with Ieva and asked her a few questions.

How would you describe your personal style? Who are you style icons?

I would describe my personal style as street chic or effortless chic. I like to wear something that I feel comfortable in to walk around but I still want it to look like I’ve put lots of thought into my outfit, when in fact I didn’t. It’s all about looking classy and feeling comfortable in your clothing. A person, whose style I absolutely adore is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She’s exactly that, she looks so effortless yet super chic. I like seeing people wear the same pieces over and over again with different outfits. That I consider as having a style. I also like to look up to Parisian street style; I love how girls dress over there. It would be wrong not to mention Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot or Olivia Palermo. I love their styles.

What is your favourite store to shop at? Why?

My favourite store to shop at is Zara, without a doubt. People who know me, would know that I’m a bit of a Zara groupie. The thing I love about Zara is that they take most of their inspiration from the big fashion houses that set trends. Zara just steals their ideas, puts their own spin to the items and sells them for affordable prices. There’s been a lot of Chanel, Celine, Chloe, Valentino inspired items in Zara lately. It’s a very trend oriented brand, which makes fashion accessible to everyone.

If you had to pick one store to have an unlimited budget in what would it be and what would you buy?

That’s a tough question because I like variety. Can I pick an online store? That would be Net-a-Porter. They have everything on there. I would buy some high quality classic items that I could pair with many other things. A Burberry trench coat, Helmut Lang cashmere sweater, a pair of great jeans (J.Brand?), Lanvin flats, etc. and then I would spend the money on accessories, such as bags, scarves, shoes, jewelry. You can never have enough of them and it’s the easiest way to spice up your outfits without spending a fortune on clothing.

How/why did you get started with YouTube? Where do you get your inspiration?

I started my YouTube channel very spontaneously. I posted a video of me and my boyfriend biking in Paris just because I thought it was sweet. However, because I was watching beauty/fashion videos for years, I thought to my self, why don’t I film what I am wearing today? So, my first video was an outfit of the day and because I got some feedback, I kind of got hooked to it. I don’t get inspiration for videos; I just film whatever I feel like filming or whatever people want to see.

What is one beauty fad or trend that you regret buying into? What is one beauty fad or trend you wish would come back?

The trend I regret falling for is this season’s trend- neons. These were everywhere and me being an impulsive buyer, I saw those bright pink jeans on Zara’s sale. So, I got them but never ended up wearing them. It’s just not me. Sometimes, you gotta leave certain trends for certain people.

I wish wearing red lipstick during the daytime would come back. It’s just so beautiful and feminine. You don’t see that a lot, it’s only when I go to Paris that I see girls wearing red lips no matter what time of the day. Women got into that nude “concealer” lip kick, that’s been lasting for too long already. Bring back the red lips!

If you had to pick only three beauty items to use for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Three is too little! Come on! Ok, I’d pick my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, YSL Volupté Sheer Candy lipstick in #5 and YSL Singulier mascara in brown. I would generally like to add my Nars Douceur blush because I’m very pale and my face needs some color, but that would be 4, right?

Do you have a beauty tip/secret you’d like to share with us?

I always swear by using hair oils and grooming your eyebrows. Shiny healthy hair and groomed brows make a huge difference!
