Summer isn’t over yet and Yonge and Gerrad has a few great ideas to make sure the end of Summer isn’t wasted one bit! The neighbourhood is heating things up with fun social experiences and amazing drinks/food specials available at: REDS Midtown TavernSCADDABUSH Italian Kitchen & Bar and Duke’s Refresher + Bar. With the nice weather, these three restaurants are the perfect addition to any plans you may have this summer!

Here’s a quick glimpse of what’s going down at Yonge and Gerrard this August:

REDS Midtown Tavern:

REDS Midtown Tavern (382 Yonge St., Unit 6) provides the perfect environment to connect with friends or colleagues with its menu of re-imagined classics and social sharing plates. In addition to their dinner and lunch menu items, REDS Midtown is excited to announce its new brunch menu available exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays. Highlights include shareable favourites like: Abbey’s Blueberry Bread (mini loaf sliced and drizzled with a fresh lemon glaze and whipped Tahitian vanilla butter; 7.95), and REDS Bites (house made one-bite donuts tossed with crumbled bacon, creamy caramel and bourbon cream; $6.65). For those not in the sharing mood, full size plates are also available including mouth-watering items like the Scotia Benny (toasted English muffin with poached eggs, smoked salmon, Haas avocado, pickled red onion and citrus hollandaise, served alongside a dressed kale salad; $13.75), and the Decadent French Toast(thick sliced brioche toast topped with caramelized banana, candied cashews; $12.95). Crafted with the philosophy that a cocktail is appropriate at any hour, REDS Midtown’s drink menu offers classic brunch cocktails including the REDS Caesar (vodka, fresh lemon wedges, celery, hot sauce, rimmed glasses; 36 ounces $32 or single serving $8.75) and the Mimosa Cocktail(Prosecco orange juice, triple sec, orange wedges; 26 ounces $34 or single serving $8.50); both of which make for the perfect brunch accompaniment whether you’re flying solo or with a group of friends. REDS Midtown’s popular lunch menu is also available during brunch.

In addition to a menu loaded with delicious sharing options, the restaurant’s extensive cocktail offerings are in full swing this summer including the Gin & Tonic program; a new initiative featuring 14 different gin and tonic combinations infused with fruit & botanicals – the perfect way to quench your thirst on a hot summer day.

Duke’s Refresher + Bar:

Duke’s Refresher + Bar (382 Yonge St. Unit 8) is the type of place where everybody knows your name – guests are made to feel like regulars the moment they walk in. With a long list of craft beers and classic food with a twist, Duke’s Refresher is the ideal place to let loose after a busy day. Indulge in sinfully delicious menu items including Duke’s Refresher’s epic burgers like: Le French Laundry (Truffle aioli, Dijon mustard, blue cheese, caramelized onion, arugula; 13.75), and San Fran Treat (Goat cheese, caramelized onions, tomato, balsamic drizzle, toasted sourdough; $13.95). SCADDABUSH Italian Kitchen & Bar:

SCADDABUSH Italian Kitchen & Bar (382 Yonge St. Unit 7) brings a heightened level of Italian dining to the neighbourhood. Welcoming guests like they’re part of the family, SCADDABUSH’s engaging atmosphere makes it a top destination to enjoy dishes made with the freshest ingredients in true Italian fashion. To celebrate the arrival of summer, SCADDABUSH has announced a variety of social programming, events and exciting promotions.

SCADDABUSH celebrates the FIFA World Cup with its “What a Match” promotion taking place from Thursday, June 12 to Sunday, July 13 in the restaurant’s bar. For $19, patrons can get any of SCADDABUSH’s tasty pizzas including The Butcher (bacon, Niagara Berkshire sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella, roasted garlic, red onions, San Marzano tomato sauce) or the Americano(pepperoni, mozzarella, San Marzano tomato sauce, wild Italian oregano, SCADDABUSH spice) and an 18 oz. draught of Moretti beer.

The ever-popular SCADDABUSH Social Club offers a variety of perks and programming throughout the year. This summer, the Social Club will continue to extend exclusive invites and offerings to its members including Italian themed food and beverage events occurring every three months as well as call-ahead seating on Friday and Saturday nights.
