OSTWALD HELGASON x ALDO RISE F/W 2014

We had talked about the latest Fall/Winter 2014 OSTWALD HELGASON x ALDO RISE collection previously here, but now that September 4th has been announced as the launch date, we are getting even more excited to get our hands on the new collection!

This marks the second collaboration between the ALDO RISE and OSTWALD HELGASON, with the collection first debuting in February 2014 at MADE fashion week in New York as part of OSTWALD HELGASON’s first runway show. The footwear will be the ideal collection for Fall including ankle boots in leather, suede, and tweed; a suede mule and suede three-piece shoe – all showcasing a vinyl-wrapped cylindrical heel. And that heel though! The covetable handbags include structured satchels, crossbody, and mini bags in contrasting materials and custom hardware.

“For fall, we were inspired by the impossible amalgamation of two artists’ works that couldn’t be more different but are of almost the same time: German conceptualist Joseph Beuys and American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein,” explains Susanne Ostwald, Creative Director for OSTWALD HELGASON. “In the collection we combine elements that are particular to their work: felt is merged with bright poppy leathers and vinyls, shiny meets matte, clean shapes are sliced, shrunk or cut away. We wanted to achieve a look that was polished and playful, and most importantly: wearable. Apart from aesthetics, we thought about practicality, so the shoes and bags had to feel as effortless gliding down the runway as dashing about on cobblestones.”

The OSTWALD HELGASON x ALDO RISE collection retail from $150 to $180 for footwear and $55 to $85 for handbags and will be available September 4th at select ALDO stores worldwide and online at aldoshoes.com/rise.
