The Ultimate Bridal Beauty Countdown

The Ultimate Bridal Beauty Countdown

You guys seem to really be loving my wedding-related posts, which it makes it all the more fun creating them! I am in full-blown “I don’t exactly want to plan a wedding, but I gotta do it” phase right now, but truthfully, writing content about it gets me more jazzed than anything! Though we have yet to set our official date (we are playing with some ideas right now), I am already going through somewhat of a countdown for myself.

As much as the big day is about Stuart and me, I also know that I want to feel my absolutely best and most beautiful that day, so I’ve been really making an effort to eat right, take care of my skin and everything in between for that matter. Which brings me to this post! If you want to look and feel your absolute best on your big day, then this fool-proof beauty countdown is the perfect checklist to have leading up to the I Do’s. It’s also a great way to get your fiancé involved so you both can treat yo self!

12 Months Before Your Wedding

  • Make a list of your goals for the big day – How do you want to look and feel?
  • Begin a regime of taking better care of yourself – Does that include working out? Yoga? Facial? Hair treatments?
  • Now is the time to be smart about the food you are eating – not just for how you look, but you also want to feel like a million bucks on your wedding day!
  • Start pulling together inspiration for your wedding look – we both know that means Pinterest stalking!
  • Get active! Even if you aren’t a fan of the gym – try some fun new workouts, and even get your bridal party involved so you can have fun while sweating! I recommend some dance classes.

5–6 Months Before Your Wedding

  • Meet with your hairstylist to discuss your wedding hair vision, so you can work towards your end goal (ie. longer locks, a more natural colour, etc.)
  • Get serious about skin care. Start a good cleansing and moisturizing regime, and consider consulting a dermatologist or making appointments for monthly facials.
  • Continue to watch what you are eating and meet with a nutritionist and your doctor to determine the best plan for you and your body. Don’t forget to drink drink drink all the water! I promise you that you will glow on your big day if you do!
  • If you have started working out, now is the perfect time to see a personal trainer a few times a month. It will keep you motivated and on track! It’s also a great way to relieve some wedding planning stress.
  • Don’t forget to take the time to relax when you can. Epsom Salts baths work wonders and even add some flower petals so you can feel boujee af!

3–4 Months Before Your Wedding

  • Make consultation appointments with potential makeup artists. Be sure to take pictures, so you can look through them and decide what you like, don’t like and if you still look and feel like you!
  • Book your wedding and hair for the date. If you know who you want before this time, then go right ahead and book! Make sure to look at some of their past work on their social channels and save any inspiration that you see and like!
  • Tanning! Whether you get married in the summer or winter, decide if you need a little glow or if you need to fix any bad tan lines that don’t go with your dress’s neckline.
  • Get a massage a few months before the big day because with all that planning – you will need it!

1–2 Months Before Your Wedding

  • Meet with your makeup artist for a trial run. If you’re not hiring a pro, get a makeover at a department store counter and purchase the products you need now (so you have time to practice).
  • Bring your veil to your hairstylist for a trial run of potential ‘dos. Don’t leave there not feeling 100% with your decision!
  • Get in the habit of using sheet face masks to make your skin glow and have it feeling amazing leading up to the day.
  • Make Crest White Strips a part of your weekly routine, so you can have pearly whites on your big day and even during the honeymoon!

2 Weeks Before Your Wedding

  • Get your final haircut and colour redone so when it’s styled for the wedding, you have glossy locks and healthy ends.
  • Remember to eat right. Load up on fruits and veggies for energy!
  • Exfoliate and moisturize your skin. Take some extra time, to get your skin feeling smooth.
  • Keep drinking loads of water to help keep your skin clear and glowing.

1 Week Before Your Wedding

  • Stick to your clean diet and stay away from alcohol and overindulging on sweets and salts
  • Get a wax of the body and face/brows
  • Get a massage to relax those muscles and release the wedding planning stress!
  • Get a simple and calming final facial. 1 week away is the perfect timing so your skin can get back to normal
  • Confirm your wedding day beauty appointments and be sure to have photos for inspiration incase the hairstylist and mua know what you want!

1 Day Before Your Wedding

  • Be sure to drink a lot of water to stay hydrated and your tummy and mood feeling perfect.
  • Pack an emergency beauty kit of items you shouldn’t leave home without.
  • Depending on your hair type, either deep condition your hair 1-2 days before your wedding.
  • Apply a face sheet mask 1-2 days before the wedding. Be sure to use one you have liked before, so you aren’t experimenting.
  • Have a professional pedicure and manicure. Let them know you are getting married, so they can really focus on giving you the best care.
  • Apply some Crest White Strips one final time before the big day

On Your Wedding Day

  • Wake up and give your body a stretch  – it’s going to be a long day
  • Remember to eat a healthy breakfast. It will keep you energized so you can dance all night!
  • Start the makeup and hair process early so you can take your time and make sure things are perfect!
  • Don’t forget your emergency beauty kit and make sure a bridesmaid or someone close to you has it throughout the day.
  • Smile! Smile! Smile!
